The hedge-fund research process, run by AI agents
Hedge funds and investment banks have entire research teams. Individual investors have a search box. Valarn closes that gap by running the same process — split across specialists, argued over, and reviewed — on any US-listed company, in minutes.
The research desk, simulated
Every role a hedge fund staffs, run by an AI agent
A fund doesn't hand one analyst a stock and take their word for it. Work is split across specialists, argued over, and reviewed before anyone acts. Valarn runs that same process — up to 25 agents on Pro+.

What we are not
- We don't manage money or hold any client assets
- We don't place trades or execute orders
- We don't give personal advice — everyone gets the same research process, run on the stock you pick
How a run works
Five stages, always in the same order
Every report moves through the same five stages, in the same order — and you can watch them tick past while it runs.
1Data Validation
Market, fundamental, filing and positioning data is gathered from a wide set of sources and cross-checked against itself — before any agent reads a word.
2Agent Research
Specialist agents each take one domain — the numbers, the story, the filings, the flow — and work the company in turn, so no single view has to carry the whole case.
3Bull / Bear Debate
A bull and a bear argue the same evidence over several rounds. The Stock Reviewer then rules on which case the evidence actually supports — a thesis has to survive an argument before it reaches you.
4Risk Review
Whatever survives the debate is stress-tested from opposing angles, and the Risk Manager weighs that exchange to settle the final research view.
5Final Thesis
Findings are ranked by evidence, disagreements between agents are surfaced rather than smoothed over, and every report passes a compliance review before you read it.
What a fund has that we don't
We reproduce the process, not the institution. The advantages a real desk buys with size and relationships are not ones software can copy, and pretending otherwise would make everything else on this page worth less.
- No order flow — we see no trades and no book
- No access to management, and no company meetings
- No proprietary or alternative datasets
- No capital at risk, and no position in anything we cover
What lands in the report
A fund's process is auditable — someone can always ask why a position exists. Yours should be too, so every run ships its own working.

Questions people ask
How do hedge funds research stocks?
A fund splits the work across specialists rather than asking one analyst for a verdict. Sector and fundamental analysts cover the business, a valuation team works out what it is worth, and a positioning desk reads filings and flow. The findings are argued — someone makes the bull case, someone makes the bear case — and a research head rules on which argument the evidence supports. A risk committee stress-tests what survives before a portfolio manager makes the final call.
Is Valarn a hedge fund?
No. Valarn is an educational research tool. We do not manage money, hold client assets, place trades, or execute orders, and we are not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. We simulate the research process a fund uses; everyone gets the same process on whichever stock they choose.
Can an individual investor get hedge-fund-quality research?
The process is reproducible even though the resources are not. Valarn runs up to 25 AI agents through the same sequence a fund research desk follows — specialist analysis, an adversarial bull-vs-bear debate, a risk review, and a single research view — in minutes, on any US-listed company. What a fund has that Valarn does not is order flow, direct access to management, proprietary datasets, and capital.
What does the bull-vs-bear debate actually do?
Two agents argue opposite sides of the same evidence over several rounds. A third agent, the Stock Reviewer, then rules on which case the evidence actually supports. The point is that a thesis has to survive an argument before it reaches you, rather than being the first plausible answer a model produced.
Does Valarn tell me what to buy?
No. Valarn produces a research view — a stance with the reasoning behind it — never a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold. Every report ships with its sources, the disagreements between agents, and a data-quality assessment, so you can see what the view rests on and judge it yourself.
